Sisterly love...

Ok, so I JUST realized my little sister has a BLOG!!!! HELLO!
In the 5 times we've talked this week you have FAILED to mention this tiny little detail? And you've had it for HOW LONG! Like months!!!
It's not like we don't talk about everything under the sun, and often! That is exactly the reason I started this blog. Since most of my family and close friends are oh so all the way across the united states away I wanted to keep them up to date on pics etc without having to send out huge email blasts that took forever. It sucks on the other end also, we don't get to be at the family get togethers and girls nights outs or even just some good old quality time. So I love seeing every ones blog and keeping up. ESPECIALLY REECEY PIECEY!!!! UMM HELLO! You are SO in the doghouse!!!
I just now realized when I was checking some friends blogs for updates. The usual. Well, little miss Katie (http://www.travisandkatiegibson.blogspot.com/) had added some NEW friends!
Of course the title "Reeces pieces" jumped out at me, cuz well, that's my nephews name. I thought to myself, wow a friend of Katies (good friend of sis & the whole fam) that has a baby with the same name. Hmm, NOPE! Lo and behold I click on the link and up pops my adorable, sweet, smiley, cuddly NEPHEW!
So, I just had to call her out on this small detail. She probably won't check this for a few days BUT when she does she will know she is in big trouble!!!! Sissy is very very mad. I'm sure I can come up with a few good stories from our childhood to get her back for this great injustice but for now I will refrain. If you would like to check out Stella's adorable cousin Reece and his blog debut (well, not really, she's had the blog a few months now as we just discussed) he is right here
I am now off to look for childhood pics of my most sweet adorable forthcoming sissy. Hopefully I can find some really GOOD ones!!! ;)
***Ok, so funny side note. I just talked to her and was laughing saying "Gotcha" when she called. Thinking that she had seen the post. She had no idea what I was talking about and wanted to know why I was saying "Gotcha"! SO it turns out she sent out an email to a few friends with the blog address telling them she had started it BUT she sent it to my OLD email address I've been telling her for a year I don't check ever. So I never got it. Also, she just sent the email out last week. So I guess she is off the hook on the old stories. Although I still think I may go look for some oldies but goodies pics to scan just for fun. :)

What's for dinner???

Caribbean Jerk Grouper

Recipe courtesy The Sea Shack, Hilton Head SC

Prep: 15 min
Inactive prep: 2 hours
Cook time: 5 min
Servings: 4

Ingredients
2 tablespoons jerk seasoning
1 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
2 cups soy sauce
4 grouper fillets

Directions
In large bowl, mix the jerk seasoning, olive oil, garlic, brown sugar, orange juice and soy sauce. Place fillets in marinade, then cover and refrigerate 2-4 hours.
Preheat heavy skillet over med-high heat. Remove grouper from marinade and cook 5 min, until fish is opaque throughout, turning grouper every minute. Serve.

Disclaimer: I also added a little pineapple juice to marinade, along with pineapple chunks. I read you may want to tone down the soy and only use 1 cup. Which is what I did. After I cooked the fish I took it out and added baby scallops and shrimp to the sauce and cooked those. Then served the sauce in a bowl on the side to pour over fish, shrimp, scallops and rice. YUM!!!
I'm serving with brown rice and broccoli. The veggie doesn't exactly "go" but it's what I wanted to use tonight. I'm sure everyone knows how I like to try different things and mix it up a bit, sooo enjoy!

Broken Camera :(

Ok, soooo the other day we were at the park with our friends and there were oh so many adorable photo ops. I went to turn on the camera and it wouldn't turn on, then it would but the screen was all white. It has gremlins. We need to tinker with it some more BUT I think the gears may just be pooped out. Wouldn't surprise me with all the pictures we take. This happened to our last digital and for what it would take to send it off to fix we could just buy a new one. Ugh. Greeeeaaat, Mario's gonna love that one. ;) So, until I get that figured out (hopefully soon) I may be adding a few cell phone pics. Here's one that I took in addition to the one's I've already posted but I still think it's cute. Well, of course it is! It's of the little Roo Roo !

*But of course we ARE biased!*

Saturday afternoon beach day

This afternoon we met Mario's dad at the beach. It was a beautiful day and Stella just loves the beach. It was so fun. Stella dug, Mario and Aubrey built sandcastles and we all got to just relax and visit. Much different then last year when we would take Stella at 4 or 5 months and it was a lot more taking care of a small baby then relaxing! Plus she didn't get to really enjoy it, now she just runs all over, digs in the sand, and just has a great time! It's like a whole new world. I CAN'T WAIT for this summer!!! I've already got Stella her swimsuit, WE ARE READY!!!

Valentines Day

Mario got her a boa to play dress up for one of her Valentines Day presents!
I think she may be a diva in the making...
She loves mama's flowers, especially smelling them!

Again, haven't taken too many pics lately. It's been cold and we haven't been up to much. We had a GREAT Valentines weekend. Friday a friend came over after Stella went to bed so we got to get out for a bit. We had a great time and went and danced a little. Mario LOVES to dance! :)
Then just hung out at home and had a mellow day Sat. and Mario cooked steak for dinner! YUM! It was so good. Then Sunday Nana and Aubrey hung out with Stella at Nana's house while we went and saw Avatar at the Imax in 3-d. It had been so long since I had been to the movies. The movie was really good but I really think the Imax 3-d made the movie. All in all a great weekend! I got flowers, chocolates and a few presents. It felt like we celebrated all weekend and it really was so nice. Getting out together twice in one weekend was definitely a first but much appreciated! I think that the remainder of ALL of Stella's teeth are coming in all at once. Ok kidding, but it doesn't seem like it. They are popping out like weeds and no matter how many times I try to keep her mouth clean and dry it is a fountain. Poor baby is really red and dry. I think she even developed a rash there for a bit but it's hard to tell since it is so red and chapped. I'm always chasing her around with some sort of ointment to try to help and she ducks when she see's me coming rubbing my hands together! We've been doing some planning for our trip to SW Florida to visit some of our good friends the Lusks! The end of March can't come soon enough, we are ready for a short siesta!!! Yay!!! Can't wait!
